FIELD OPERATION

OPERATION: FIRST CONTACT — The Bigfoot Expedition, August 16

The Bureau has triangulated six weeks of escalating sighting activity to a single corridor. On August 16 we mount the largest coordinated civilian field operation in our history. You can be on it.

BUREAU FILE 26-081 // CLASSIFICATION: OPEN DISTRIBUTION (deliberate) // GRID REF 40.9187 N, 72.7343 W // STATUS: ACTIVE

For seven years this Bureau has done its work quietly. We cast the prints. We logged the knocks. We filed the reports that certain agencies marked 'received' and never answered. That period of our history ends on August 16.

The situation

Since the first week of June, this office has recorded nineteen credible sighting events inside a single eleven-kilometer corridor of the central Pine Barrens. Thermal anomalies moving at a walking gait. Shear damage to birch stands at heights no deer reaches. A wood-knock response pattern that answered our investigator — twice — with correct spacing. Individually, any one of these is a Tuesday. Together, on one corridor, in one season, they are a residence.

He is not passing through. He is living here. And we believe we know approximately where.

The operation

On August 16, the Bureau will field its full investigator roster plus enlisted civilian volunteers in a coordinated sweep-and-document operation across the corridor. Squads of eight to ten, each under a Bureau squad lead, moving on assigned grid lanes with radio discipline. Objective: visual contact, photographic documentation, and — if the moment presents itself — the first respectful, non-lethal engagement in the history of this field.

Let us address the equipment question directly, because the forums will. Enlisted personnel will train and operate with compressed-air marker equipment of the type used in engagement simulation. This is not improvisation; it is doctrine. Bureau engagement protocol has been non-lethal since our founding, and marker equipment is the only field-practical system that lets a squad practice contact discipline, signal range, and fire restraint against moving targets without any possibility of harming the subject. We do not intend to hurt him. We intend to meet him, and to be ready for the fact that he may not initially be glad about it.

MUSTER: Cousins Paintball, 407 Edwards Ave, Calverton, NY // TIME: Check-in 9:00 AM • Briefing 10:30 AM // ENLISTMENT FEE: [INSERT] — covers marker equipment, mask, field provisioning. Values held at registration desk.

Why August 16 cannot slip

Readers of this publication know we are not the only organization watching this corridor. The unmarked trucks on the fire roads are not ours. The drone grid over Manorville is not ours. The entity our archives designate Division 9 is running its own timeline, and our best information — see the ████████ dispatch of July 11 — says that timeline is short. If they reach him first, he goes into a building none of us will ever be allowed to know exists. If we reach him first, he goes into the historical record, where he belongs. This is a race, and it is one we can win with numbers.

Who can enlist

  • Any civilian in reasonable walking condition. No prior field experience — squad leads will train you at muster.
  • Skeptics are explicitly welcome and will be assigned to the Skeptic Corps as adversarial observers. We want you there when it happens.
  • Minors with a participating adult. He has never harmed a child. (He has never harmed anyone. That is rather the point.)
Every name on that enlistment roster is a lane covered, a camera raised, and thirty more eyes he can trust before theirs find him.

Enlistment is open now through August 15, 23:59, or until squad capacity is reached. Register through the official operation portal below. Bring boots you have already broken in. Leave the cologne at home. He can smell it, and frankly, so can we.

Enlistment — choose your allegiance

You believe. You have always believed. Squad assignment prioritizes corridor lanes with active sign.
